When I get wedding enquiries, some couples know exactly what they want in terms of photography – usually alternative, non-cheesy, natural wedding photography – and how long they would need me for. Others can be a little bit overwhelmed by the whole ‘wedding thing’ and are not quite sure what coverage length they should pick.
In general the main part they are uncertain about is whether or not to have ‘getting ready’ photos taken. Whenever they ask for advice, here is my answer to them. My approach to wedding photography is documentary and as unobtrusive as possible and my goal is to tell the story of your day as it unfolds whether it starts with you getting ready or arriving at the wedding ceremony venue. Either way is absolutely fine by me.
Having said that, here are some reasons why you might want to have some ‘getting ready’ photos.
Enough said. Here is a selection of some of my favourite ‘getting ready’ photos to give you an idea of what you can expect.
