A relaxed dog-friendly wedding ceremony in the Council Chamber at Islington Town Hall and an informal party at the West Reservoir Centre.

‘My partner David and I discovered your website and really like your portfolio. It’s great you are based in North London.

We are getting married at Islington Town Hall (15:00) and West Reservoir Centre (17:00) on 26th August.
We’re planning an informal, non-traditional day and looking for a half day photography coverage. Are you available on our date?’

The plans

Islington Town Hall wedding ceremony

‘The ceremony will take place in the Council Chamber at 3pm. Islington Town Hall have just informed us that our dog is allowed to join us so he might feature in some of our shots.

We are having the standard ceremony and a reading/speech from a special friend to give you more time to capture the moment.
Before the confetti throw, we’d love to have a couple of photos with our dog inside the Town Hall.

Then, after a few quick group shots, everyone will head to the West Reservoir separately. We’ve hired a beautiful vintage Mercedes for the ride.

West Reservoir Centre wedding reception

The reception starts at 5pm with bespoke cocktails (designed especially for David and I) and a couple of speeches.

We’re not having any formal sit-down meal. Instead, we’re having wood-fired pizza from Sud Italia (you might know them from Old Spitalfields Market). There won’t be cake either. Later in the evening, people will be able to pick ice-cream from an ice-cream van parked just outside the building.

Around 9pm, music and dancing will start. Again, we’re not having a first dance.’

Non-traditional wedding photography

‘We’re both architects and we’ve carefully selected photogenic venues. Decorating will be quite minimalist and not ‘weddingy’.
We’ve visited the West Reservoir Centre and it’s looking great and we are super excited to have you shoot us there.
We are working with the venue’s team and our neighbour who is a lighting designer to give you extra lighting for the dancing shots as we’re aware that you don’t use a flash.

The reservoir has pontoons that we are hoping to have photos taken on and they confirmed that you will need to wear a buoyancy aid/life jacket to capture this. We are also looking at having some smoke flares on us to capture that moment.

In terms of photography, we’d like things to flow naturally and the process to be relaxed. Small details are very important to us and we’d like you to capture any detail that catches your eye (especially architectural details).’
