A fun humanist wedding ceremony at the Asylum Chapel in Peckham + a relaxed pub reception at the Jolly Gardeners in Vauxhall. Plus, two brides wearing gorgeous non-traditional wedding dresses.

Thank you so much! We love the pictures! And our families love them too!
We have loved the experience and your work is beautiful. Thanks again.Charlotte and Lizzy
The Enquiry
“Our names are Charlotte and Lizzy and we are getting married on 6th April at the Asylum chapel in Peckham. Our reception is at the Jolly Gardeners pub in Vauxhall which is such a lovely relaxed space. We’re having 90 guests and the whole day is very relaxed, wholesome and a bit silly.”
The Wedding Plans
The Asylum Chapel Wedding Ceremony
“We’re planning a fun humanist wedding at the Asylum Chapel on 6th April. By then, we’ll already be legally married as we’re having a civil ceremony at our local town hall a few days before our big party.
The ceremony will start at 12pm. We’ll be arriving separately and making separate entrances, accompanied by a singer and musician.
Our humanist ceremony will be led by Nat Raybould, a wedding celebrant based in South London. We’ve been working with her to create a fun personal ceremony to celebrate our love story in our own way. There will be three readings, two of them will actually be written by our friends.
We are also writing personal vows but couldn’t decide who should go first, so we’ll perform ‘Rock Paper Scissors‘ to see who will have the final say.
We couldn’t choose a ringbearer either. So, we’ve asked our celebrant to pick a person by chance by taping our wedding rings to the underside of a random guest chair.
After the ceremony, there will be more live music and some drinks in the chapel.
Then, we’d like to have a confetti throw as we head out to get on the wedding bus to go to the pub.”
The Jolly Gardeners Vauxhall Wedding Reception
“The reception at the Jolly Gardeners pub will start around 2.30pm with some fizz and canapes.
Then, about an hour later, we’ll have a three-course sit down meal. There will be four speeches in between courses.
Evening guests will arrive around 7pm as the band is starting to perform their first set.
Later on in the evening, we’ll have karaoke on the projector, but you’ll be finished by then.”
Fun, relaxed, candid wedding photography
“We have been anxiously racking our brains over photography for our wedding for months now! It is so important to us that the photographs are relaxed and not super posed.
We are both a bit camera-shy and would feel uncomfortable doing a big photoshoot, but we are also creative people (we’ll be doing our own flowers and table decoration) and capturing special moments beautifully is so important. This is why we think you would be a great match for our wedding!
Lizzy does love a candid pic 😂 but I really don’t because I am quite self-conscious. I love that you spend time and care thinking about those things in your work.
We would love to work with you for the whole day if you are available. The ceremony is at 12pm but we don’t need getting ready pictures so we won’t need to account for the morning. Hopefully this means you can get some party shots.
We’d love our pictures to capture the vibe of the day and our friends and family having a great time.
Also, just so you know, a couple of our friends/family will have small cameras to film the day. This will be turned into our wedding video later by the company we hired them from. We have opted for this instead of a professional videographer to capture more natural shots and ensure our guests can fully relax. Anyone with a camera will be instructed to stay out of your way.
Please let us know your thoughts and we really hope you can make it!”
