A small non-traditional Woolwich Town Hall wedding with a relaxed ceremony. A gay wedding in South East London with an informal pub reception.

“We LOVE our photos!! Thank you very much for helping us capture the day! We loved every minute!”
Chris & Mark

Here is how Chris and Mark described their plans in their initial email:
“My partner and I are getting married on the 19th August in the Woolwich Town Hall with a lunch reception at the Guardhouse in Royal Woolwich Arsenal.
I came across your website and really like the natural, ‘un-canned’ style of your photographs.
It’s a small event – 34 people in total and have planned for the ceremony and lunch reception to span approx 4 hours. It will be a particularly relaxed affair – not much formality and ritual at all. Really for our family and friends to enjoy the day as much as we will.”
As an alternative wedding photographer, I regularly shoot small relaxed weddings in London. However, I particularly enjoyed working with Chris and Mark. They are such a lovely laid-back couple! We felt very comfortable around each other. Just see how natural they look in their couple shots. In case you are wondering, none of the photos was posed. I only suggested locations and asked them to either stand or sit. Then they had a chat, sometimes a laugh, or remained quiet.
And magic happened…

Lunch and speeches (with some moving video messages from friends and family abroad) took place in The Mess. After that, everyone went to The Avery for some more speeches and the cutting of a black wedding cake!
