A fun, informal lesbian wedding at Brix LDN a cool restaurant set in an old Metal Box Factory in South London. Complete with roast chicken and a ceilidh.

“I just wanted to say how we thrilled we are with your pictures. You have captured the day so so well and it was wonderful to be able to relive it again. Thank you!
Kat & Alex

When Alex and Kat first contacted me, they insisted on the fact that they wanted their ‘wedding to be laid back and just for everyone to feel included and have a good time!’. They also wanted both their ceremony and reception to be held in the same venue. They picked Hixter Bankside for its cool industrial style and famous chicken! The venue has closed down since then but it’s now re-opened as Brix LDN.
I was super excited to photographer another lesbian wedding in London.
Southwark wedding prep
I started the day photographing the brides getting ready with their family and friends in two different rooms at the same hotel. Everyone was already excited and in a joyful mood.

Wedding ceremony
Brix LDN is truly a great place if you are looking for a restaurant wedding venue in London. It is located in South London, very close to Borough Market. When I first met Alex and Kat at the venue, I immediately loved the mix of contemporary art pieces and original features of this former metal box factory. I knew straightaway that they had picked a photogenic venue that would look great in the pictures.
The couple had a fun and moving civil ceremony with live music performed by a family member.

Although it was May and the weather was nice and mild that day, Kat and Alex opted for indoor wedding portraits as they loved their venue so much. I, too, was very happy to indulge and shoot some relaxed couple portraits around the bar area and even in the ladies toilets!

Then, the newly-weds had some well deserved drinks with their family and friends in the downstairs bar – again with some great live music.
