Wilton’s Music Hall

What better way to start the new year than to photograph a wedding at one of London’s quirkiest wedding venues? The oldest surviving Music Hall in the world, it is an amazing historic wedding venue, a real photographer’s dream!

The initial message I received from Jude and Isaac was quite succinct:

“We are getting married at Wilton’s music hall on the 13th Jan. The ceremony is likely to take place at 3pm and the day will end at 11:30pm.

We want our wedding to feel relaxed and for everyone to just have a great time. With regards to the photos, we love the idea of as little posing for any pictures as possible and instead for them to capture the day.”

The couple were keen to book me for a full day coverage starting with some ‘getting ready’ photos and finishing shortly after the first dance. Even though I did not know any detail about the day, I was already super excited to shoot a wedding at one of London’s best kept secrets.

A few weeks before the wedding date, I met Isaac and the wedding planner at the venue. The building looked fantastic but the auditorium was very dark. I expressed my concern regarding the lighting as I do not use a flash.

Little did I know that the space would be completely transformed by the lighting and floral design on the wedding day!
