A stylish same-sex wedding party at Brunswick House, a unique venue in London.

“Thank you so much. The photos look fantastic! You really captured the spirit of the evening. We have had a lot of fun looking at the pics this weekend, with friends too. You really have done a superb job and we will certainly be recommending you.”
Beth & Linda

A Brunswick House wedding party
Here is the initial enquiry I received from Linda:
“We are having a party to celebrate our Civil Partnership on 15th July from 5pm to Midnight at Brunswick House in Vauxhall.
Beth and I have had a good look at your website and you have a great eye! We really like your style and it suits the kind of event we are having. We are actually doing the legal bit the week before so on Saturday 15th it will all be about the party. I don’t know if you know Brunswick House/Lassco. It is a super creative, eccentric venue with lots of visual stimulus. A bit like our guests… We have the run of the whole house which is nice.
Because the event is quite short (in that it’s not a full wedding set up), I think we will want to spend as much time chatting to people as we can as there will be people there that we haven’t seen for a long time.
Guests will arrive around 5pm for drinks on the ground floor, and then we will move people to the top floors for a sit down dinner (100 people). There will be a pianist. And then dancing is in the cellars from 9pm onwards. We would love to book you for a 5-hour slot if possible, 5pm – 10pm?”
A fashionable couple
Attached to the email were some photos of the stylish outfits the couple would be wearing.
Linda described her look as ‘quite decadent, louche and loungey. It is a touch exotic and a touch Japanese’. The outfit included a high necked top, long loose wide trousers, Moroccan slippers and a long embroidered coat.
Beth’s outfit would be ‘edgier. A bit rock ‘n’ roll/glam rock’. It included a shimmer disc top, tight leather jeans with ‘killer heels’ and an embellished bomber jacket.
A secret gem
Needless to say, I was super excited to shoot my first Brunswick House wedding. This unusual London venue is just incredible. It is a fabulous antique-filled Georgian mansion with a mixture of fine furniture, statuary and decorative ornaments,
A fun wedding party
During our video call, the couple mentioned that they had encouraged their guests to dress up and that they would give out prizes to the most stylish ones. Some of their friends had also prepared some sort of fun secret presentation. I couldn’t wait to photograph Linda and Beth’s wedding party!
My only regret is that I wasn’t able to capture any dancing as the music only started after I had left.
